8 juicy things about me...

I was tagged by Helen, who was tagged by Sarah, so here I go:

1. We were in the middle of adopting a little girl when we left Nicaragua. We were in the legal process, but we hadn't met her yet. I still long to know her, though.

2. I sold over a million dollars in real estate in my first three months as a realtor. This was in my other life, before I was a foreign missionary.

3. I hated coffee until three years ago, and now I cant go a morning without it.

4. I download music from the internet instead of buying it...scandalous!

5. My husband and I saw each other on our wedding day before the ceremony so he wouldn't be nervous while I was walking down the aisle.

6. Once my friends and I were surrounded by the Ft. Lauderdale police and searched because our friend had a water gun and they thought it was real. The policemen didn't think it was funny, neither did our parents.

7. I worked a spring break job at Ocean World and fed the sharks and dolphins. We got to swim with them after hours, too. (the dolphins, not the sharks)

8. I used to love lobster until I went to a seminar and learned that they were bottom feeders, and now I can't really bring myself to eat them or shrimp!

Sorry they are so boring, but I hope you have enjoyed them!

And here's mine:

(1) I once stabbed a man which sent him to the emergency room.

(2) I have been shot (accidentally) by a 20 gauge shotgun.

(3) I fell almost 20 feet once while rockclimbing and didn't break a bone - but did get the wind knocked out of me.

(4) Once while passionately kissing my dear wife one of her earrings got lodged up my nose.

(5) I was part of a basketball team when I worked at Crossnore School and was a respected member of the team who actually was NOT a liabilty! (But these were 14 - 17 yr olds!)

(6) I went from being a campus minister to being a bartender.

(7) My favorite philosopher, after Jesus and Plato, is Friedrich Nietzsche.

(8) I looove having my back rubbed. It relaxes me and reminds me when my granny used to rub my back when I was a wee lad.

Jan - Swimming with dolphins...something I have always dreamed of doing. That is too cool and I have to ask where you guys are in the process of adopting this little girl? I'm very intrigued and want to know more.
Greg - what can I say except wow! After I finished gasping and then laughing at the thought of an earring up your nose, I was utterly amazed at what incredible backgrounds we all have and the life experiences we bring to the table...glad you were the one to get shot though.
And Jan - is this a new account or did I just not know about it?

Jan ... my heart lodged in my throat when I read about the girl you were in the process of adopting. I can imagine that there was a loss there that few people could understand ... even if you didn't know her. There was expectation and readiness ... it really made me ache for you when I read about it.

Greg -- I dig Nietzsche too!

bright blessings ya'll!

Jan, those are NOT boring! I didn't know you were so prolific a real estate agent! Pays a lot more than teaching, huh?

Did you also know that Lobsters are in the same animal family as cockroaches. I was so sad to learn this.

Greg, you are a freak! Just kidding, what a wide range of experiences. It's amazing you're still in one piece!

What he didn't tell you about the earring is that I wasn't his wife yet when this happened! I looked at him and saw something sticking out of his nose and I thought it was a weird looking booger, but then it turned out to be a pearl earring!
