On Wednesday night we got back from a fun trip/working vacation to South Mexico, where we went and visited some ancient Aztec pyramids just north of Mexico City. It was so much fun to be with my explorer boys wandering about and imagining warriors from ages past. My kids had recently seen Apocalypto, so they were imagining them cutting off the heads of the human sacrifices and then the heads rolling to the bottom of the pyramid. I know it's gross, but such is life with boys! Max and I only made it half-way up the pyramid, as I was feeling a bit woozy from a stomach virus and didn't want to trip and roll to the bottom like the heads of long ago!

We went to Chichen Itza (Mayan ruins) on our honeymoon, and it was fascinating! Boy am I glad I live in the 21st century!

We went to Chitchen Itza on our honeymoon, too. Cancun was great! Too bad it's like 30 hours away from us. These ruins were nice, but Chitchen Itza is better...

I've been there! Cool place. Mexico City I could have done without, but the ruins there are fascinating.

We went to Chichen Itza too on our honeymoon. I thought I was going to die from sun stroke.
My favorite was the original soccer/basketball game court. If you lose they chopped your head off. I don't think you would have the same bad attitudes in sports if we went with that tradition.
