...we spent our day hosting a group of Canadians (who don't celebrate Thanksgiving) in Mexico (who don't celebrate as well). We were so busy we barely even noticed it was Turkey Day. We realized that this was our FIFTH time we missed out on the holiday, and it does get easier every year.
One funny thing that happened is that we also are hosting a group of Texans. They were driving through the middle of Monterrey and got stopped by the police for having trailers hooked onto their trucks. Apparently that is a big sin there? I don't know! Fortunately, we know people who know people who know people. Ended up that the Secretary of Transportation personally called the officer on his cell phone, and he let them go with his tail between his legs. Something to be thankful for indeed!
